Local Programs Supporting Women and Girls Receive Over $78,000 in Grant Funding

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Women’s Fund and Julianne Williams Fund of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation announced today the recipients of their annual grants, totaling $78,850. The grants were awarded to twelve area organizations focusing on improving the lives of women and girls in central Minnesota. "These organizations are implementing life-changing work for the girls and women in our community and we are excited to support them," says Joanne Kudrna, Chair of the Women's Fund Advisory Board.

Charity Challenge Match Doubled to Support Local Food Shelves

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Norman C. Skalicky Foundation and the Central Minnesota Community Foundation would like to announce that the Norman C. Skalicky Foundation has increased the Charity Challenge match from the original $100,000 to an unprecedented $200,000. The dollar for dollar match continues to run until December 31, 2018.

Four Local Arts Organizations to Receive Funding

Willmar, Minn. – Four local arts organizations will receive funding to enhance and maintain programming via the Willmar Area Community Foundation Arts Fund grant round. A total of $5,600 was awarded to programs ranging from supporting local artists to experiential musical experiences for youth. Sara Carlson, executive director of the Willmar Area Community Foundation stated, “Having creative and artistic opportunities for everyone in our community fosters a stronger and more vibrant home for all. It reminds us that we’re all creative beings – and that whether we’re making art or music, telling stories or sharing in the experience, we’re all connected.”

Charity Challenge Returns to Help Local Food Shelves

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Charity Challenge has become a tradition for the Norman C. Skalicky Foundation, the Central Minnesota Community Foundation and the St. Cloud metro area. Since the first Challenge in 2001, which raised $10,185; to last year’s record setting $468,673 challenge, this event has surpassed a total of $3.1 million raised for local food shelves.

WACF Opens Grant Round

Willmar, Minn. – The Willmar Area Community Foundation (WACF) announced today the opening of their annual grant round. The WACF seeks to fund programs that focus on three different areas this year: addressing the achievement gap for youth, increasing community connections and welcoming diverse populations, and supporting productive aging. Eligible organizations must be a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, school, or government entity who serve residents of Kandiyohi County. The WACF General Grant Round will be open for applications from November 15th, 2018 to January 15th, 2019. Funding Available to Address Workforce/Opportunity Gap

Alexandria Area Community Foundation Announces Recipients of "Difference Maker" Grants

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) announced today the recipients of their "Difference Maker" Grants. The Alexandria Arts Association received $10,000, We Got Your Back received $9,000, Kindred Family Focus received $2,000, Veterans Memorial Park received $10,000 and the North Star Sports Complex received $7,500.

Ruth McDonald Fund Announces Grant Recipients for Health and Wellness Programming

Doug Arndt Family Fund Gifts Impact The Brainerd Lakes Area

Brainerd, Minn. – Elaine Arndt, a resident of Minnetonka and Gull Lake continued to make an impact, even after her passing on July 18th, 2018. Preceded in death by husband, Doug Arndt Sr. and survived by three children, they loved helping others and felt it was imperative to lend a hand when possible to build community.
