Carver County Response Fund to Support COVID-19 Relief Efforts

The purpose of the fund is to support the local community in times of crisis, such as the current COVID-19 pandemic. Alexandria Area Response Fund to Support COVID-19 Relief Efforts

Alexandria, Minn. – The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) announced today that they will be putting an additional $5,000 into Alexandria Response Fund, now to serve those impacted by COVID-19. While the Alexandria Response Fund will continue to support those impacted by the downtown fire, the fund will now also be directed to the COVID-19 pandemic in our local community. Merrills to Receive BLACF 2020 Award in Philanthropy

Brainerd, Minn. – The Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation’s (BLACF) Board of Directors announced this year's Award in Philanthropy recipients are Virginia and the late Kenneth Merrill of Crosslake, MN. The Merrills have displayed a passion for helping others and bettering our communities. They have assisted with the growth and development of Crosslake and the surrounding areas through supporting nonprofit organizations and the City of Crosslake operations.

Becky Twamley Named 2020 Women Making Waves Award Recipient

Brainerd, Minn. – The Brainerd Lakes Area Women’s Fund (BLAWF) has selected Becky Twamley as this year’s recipient of the Women Making Waves award. The award recognizes a woman who has significantly impacted the lives of women and children locally through their work, philanthropy or volunteerism. BLAWF has given this award since 2012 as a way to honor those working to build a better community and inspire the next generation of engaged community members.

Arts Grant Round Now Accepting Applications Through Central Minnesota Community Foundation

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Central Minnesota Community Foundation (CMCF) is pleased to announce that the Central Minnesota Arts Grant round is now accepting applications for funding requests. The goal of the Central Minnesota Arts Grant is to support small to medium size arts organizations that make arts more accessible to area residents. Application deadlines for the Central Minnesota Art Grant round is May 1st.

Alexandria Response Fund Established Following Downtown Fire

Alexandria, Minn. – After Tuesday's devastating fire, your Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) has established a long term disaster relief fund called the Alexandria Response Fund. Gifts via credit card can be directed to the fund at http://www.communitygiving.org/donate/alexandria-response-fund . Checks can be sent to AACF c/o CommunityGiving 101 7th Ave S., Suite 100 Saint Cloud, MN 56301. Please specify Alexandria Response Fund on the memo line. Gifts made to the fund will initially be focused on assisting people impacted by the recent fire in downtown Alexandria. The fund will also be available in the future to assist with other potential disasters or catastrophic events. AACF will work with local agencies, such as West Central Communities Action, to disseminate charitable funds and assist those affected via these partnerships.

Seeking Nominations for ATHENA Award

St. Cloud, Minn. – The Women’s Fund of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation is seeking nominations for the ATHENA Award which is presented to a woman who has an extended history achieving excellence in her career and inspires others in the St. Cloud area. Nominations for this award will be accepted until April 30th and the recipient will be honored at the Central Minnesota Community Foundation Annual Dinner to be held on September 10th.
